Tuition Workshop - Tropical Birds in Coloursoft with Karen Coulson
25th November
The velvety softness of the Coloursoft strip releases rich, dense colour at a stroke and is perfect for mixing and blending. Despite its soft texture, Coloursoft sharpens to a fine point and works equally well for detailed illustrations or bold, contemporary still-life drawings and portraiture. Available in a range of 72 dazzling colours, all with that gorgeous, consistently soft texture.

I live with my family on the edge of the New Forest in Romsey, Hampshire. I have always loved art and crafts and once my children became more independent I began to draw again in my spare time. I discovered a love of drawing both wild and domestic animal portraits in coloured pencil.

I exhibit with the UKCPS (United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society) in their Annual International Exhibition and The World of Coloured Pencil Exhibition at the Cumberland Pencil Museum, Keswick. In 2007 I achieved silver signature status and I was awarded "Highly Commended" at both exhibitions.

Workshops run between 10.30am – 4.30pm. £40 per person per workshop. A 10% discount is offered for any two or more workshops booked at any one time.

All materials for the day’s tuition are included in the cost of the workshop. Paper, pencils, fixing spray, brushes etc.., will all be provided per person. You will be working from a tin of 24 pencils, which will give you the opportunity to experiment with light, tone, and texture of the pencils.
