Tuition Workshop - Herdwick Sheep and Lakeland Beasts in Aquatone Sticks with Malcolm Cudmore

Watercolour pencils are amazingly versatile and Aquatone offers you four times more useable material than a woodcased version. This solid stick of pure, watersoluble colour can be used wet or dry, and you can apply broad sweeps of colour in seconds. For even faster colour lay down, simply peel off the protective wrapper and apply Aquatone on its side.

Malcolm Cudmore uses Derwent Aquatone dry on glazed board. Malcolm's technique is unique and produces amazing and beautiful results. "I am a figurative artist who aims to work (where possible) from direct observation. I paint in oils and draw in pastels, charcoal and coloured pencils. Occasionally, I stray into three dimensions with small sculptures and handmade boxes". Malcolm exhibits his work around the country winning a highly commended award in the coloured pencil Societies 2009 annual exhibition.

Workshops run between 10.30am – 4.30pm. £40 per person per workshop. A 10% discount is offered for any two or more workshops booked at any one time.

All materials for the day’s tuition are included in the cost of the workshop. Paper, pencils, fixing spray, brushes etc.., will all be provided per person. You will be working from a tin of 24 pencils, which will give you the opportunity to experiment with light, tone, and texture of the pencils.

A lunch break of 45 minutes will happen around 1pm. Where you will have the opportunity to take a complimentary visit around the Museum, visit the Derwent Retail shop selling the full range of Derwent Pencils, or visit the Museum Gallery.

Lunch can be purchased additionally from Sketchers Coffee Shop. Complimentary tea, coffee and Sticky Afternoon Treats will be served throughout the day.
