The Cumberland Pencil Museum offers a unique learning opportunity and your visit can be tailored to meet the needs of your students. There is a video theatre showing a short film on our current production methods, plus a Drawing Zone where students can get 'hands-on' with the pencils. Worksheets are available on request.
Group size & length of visit
The recommended maximum size for one group is 25. However,
we can accommodate larger numbers but these would have to be
split up into smaller groups. We recommend you allow at least
an hour and half for a visit to the museum.

Student FREE Offer
Each child will receive a FREE pencil personalised with
the name of your school. The pencils are personalised in
the museum so your pupils are able to watch the process.
Coat & Bag Store
Coats & Bags can be left in a dry lockable store
Lunch Room
There is a dedicated room for school groups where you can eat your
packed lunches. Alternatively, on warmer days, there is a picnic area outside.
Packed Lunches
You are welcome to bring your own packed lunches or discounted pack lunches are
available on request from our Coffee Shop. They include a Ham, Cheese or Tuna
Savoury Sandwich Baton with two choices from the following Bag of crisps, fresh
fruit or chocolate cookie. All served with a carton of juice £2.50 per packed lunch minimum order of 10.
